Skin disorders

There are a few common disorders of the skin glands that are useful to identify. If you know how you can recognize these conditions, then you’ll know better when you go to a doctor for treatment.

Disorders of the sebaceous glands:

Blackheads (black) – These are called comedones and blackheads look like worm-like clots hydrogenated oil in a hair follicle. They commonly occur on forehead and nose. When the follicle fills with too much oil from the sebaceous glands, comedones are then formed at the opening of the follicle block. Severe forms of blackheads should be treated by a dermatologist.
Blackheads (white) – These are called milia and blackheads look like small pear-like clots on the surface, due to the stop of oil. You can blackheads across the face, and also in the neck, chest and shoulders. They are associated with skin types that have a fine texture and dry.
Acne – Acne is characterized by inflammation of the sebaceous glands due to retained secretions. Acne is most common in the face, back and chest. Simple acne spots can be treated with cleaners and treatments that are freely available, while more severe forms of acne should be treated by a dermatologist.
Seborrhea – seborrhea is a disease caused by an abnormal increase in discharge from the sebaceous glands. A greasy or shiny condition indicates the presence of seborrhea.
Asteatosis – Asteatosis is a condition of dry, scaly skin caused by a deficiency or absence of sebum (tallow). Asteatosis is common in older people and exposure to cold.
Rosacea – Rosacea is a chronic blockage of the sebaceous glands, in the first place of the cheeks and nose. This disease is characterized by redness, expansion of the blood vessels and the formation of papillae and pimples. If you think you have rosacea, then certainly to a dermatologist.

Disorders of sweat glands:

Anhidrosis – Anhidrosis is a lack of sweating is usually caused by fever or some skin diseases. Medical treatment is needed here.
Bromhidrosis – Bromhidrosis is a disease of smelly sweating, usually observed in the forearms and feet.
Hyperhidrosis – Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating caused by heat or general body weakness. Medical treatment is required.
Miliaria rubra – Miliaria rubra is an acute inflammation of the sweat glands, characterized by small vesicles and accompanied by burning, itchy skin. This disease is caused by exposure to extreme heat.

Inflammation of the skin:

Dermatitis – Dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin that may take various forms, including sores or pimples.
Eczema – Eczema is one of inflammation, painful skin disorder in which various types of dry or wet injuries occur. Eczema may be acute or chronic and the cause is not known. For treatment must go to a doctor.
Fever Blisters – Fever blisters are caused by the Herpes Simplex virus. Separate blisters or blisters in groups that are red and swollen break, usually around or close mouth and nose. Rare fever blisters remain visible for more than one weeks. They are infectious.
Psoriasi – Psoriasis is characterized by red spots on the skin covered with scales witzilveren. You will usually psoriasis on the scalp, elbows, knees, chest and lower back. If irritation occurs, then the skin bleed. Psoriasis is not contagious.
